Infinite Blue, a provider of business continuity and disaster recovery planning and response management software, recently announced a partnership with Footprint Africa Business Solutions (FABS), an information technology business solutions provider.
Through the partnership, Infinite Blue will provide FABS with its “BC in the Cloud” software for resale and implementation, “along with its mass communication tool SENDIGO,” according to a Feb. 14 press release.
“As a fully integrated solution, BC in the Cloud (BCIC), enables organizations to plan, prepare, test, manage, and notify teams how to respond to any potential business disruption,” the press release stated.
The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the reality that most companies are unprepared for all facets as they relate to business continuity, Karien Bornheim, CEO and managing director of FABS, said in the release. Infinite Blue’s BC in the Cloud will help FABS clients with “comprehensive business continuity planning.”
Matt Cox, vice president of strategic alliances who oversees the Europe, Middle East and Africa Region for Infinite Blue, said the partnership offers his company tremendous opportunities
“Footprint Africa Business Solutions allows us to expand our footprint into Africa,” he said in the release. “FABS consultants listen intently to their clients’ needs to deliver meaningful solutions. We believe this partnership will enable FABS to provide the most comprehensive business continuity planning and response software on the market today.”
Business continuity is a proactive discipline intended to reduce risks and help ensure a business continues to deliver products and services no matter the circumstances, according to the Tech Target website.
Disruptions in business can have costly impacts, Tech Target reported.
“The Uptime Institute's Annual Outage Analysis 2021 report estimated that 40% of outages or service interruptions in businesses cost between $100,000 and $1 million, while about 17% cost more than $1 million,” the company stated in a post on its site. “A data breach can be more expensive; the average cost in 2020 was $3.86 million, according to the 2020 Cost of a Data Breach Report by IBM and the Ponemon Institute.”
Infinite Blue’s BC in the Cloud software is used by more than 500,000 people and by more Fortune 10 companies than any other BC planning solution, according to the release. The company's U.S. headquarters is in Collegeville, Pennsylvania.
