The Mobil 1 and Porsche partnership recently celebrated its 25th anniversary, and it looks like the relationship between the two companies will continue for several years.

The oil company and the automaker announced Feb. 16 that they have agreed to extend their partnership through 2026, Business Wire reported.

“Mobil 1 helps Porsche drivers unlock their passion and the performance of their vehicles, offering an optimum balance of performance, protection, durability and efficiency that Porsche’s high-performance cars require,” Mike Smith, director of strategic global alliances at ExxonMobil Fuels and Lubricants, said in the report. ”We have built a strong partnership that embodies what our consumers and team drivers want, need and expect from our world class brands and performance-driven industry leaders.”

Throughout the partnership, which was established in 1996, Porsche autos have claimed several titles at Le Mans, a 24-hour endurance race, including wins in 1996 and 1997, according to a report by Snaplap.net.

The company took a break from that race for a few years, then started crossing the finish line first again from 2015-2017, with a 919 Hybrid, according to the Speed Journal.

Throughout the term of their contract, Mobil 1 has been the primary lubricant used at the Porsche factory, Business Wire reported. Mobil 1 has supported the production of more than 1.5 million of the German performance cars.
