Wilson Sonsini welcomes Goold and his 'transatlantic experience' to London

Palo Alto, California-based company Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, recently welcomed Richard Goold as a partner to its London office.

The addition of Goold expands Wilson Sonsini’s London office to 24 attorneys and 30 employees overall since its opening in 2018, according to a Feb. 8 press release.

“Since opening in London, we’ve scaled rapidly and we continue to add talented practitioners like Richard to align with the needs of the many fast-growing companies and sophisticated investors we work with throughout the UK (United Kingdom) and Europe,” Doug Clark, managing partner at Wilson Sonsini, said in the release. “Our active and expanding corporate team in London remains focused on transatlantic work, so Richard’s industry experience and understanding of what growth-minded start-ups need makes him a great fit. We’re excited to welcome him to our firm.”

Goold specializes in transatlantic and global transactions, representation for scale-up businesses and innovative start-ups. According to the release, the firm's London office has been involved in multiple "significant transatlantic transactions for iconic high-growth UK- and European-based companies" within the last year.

“Richard’s addition to our London office further demonstrates Wilson Sonsini’s commitment to helping UK and European technology companies and investors compete and win in America and globally,” Daniel Glazer, managing partner of Wilson Sonsini’s London office and head of its U.S. expansion practice, said in the release. “Richard’s transatlantic experience and industry expertise will provide significant added value to the high-growth companies and investors we represent.”

Goold represents companies in international mergers and acquisitions with a focus on the high-growth technology and science fields, according to the release.

 Goold has a post-graduate Diploma in Law from Manchester Metropolitan University, the release stated.
