A recent study conducted by the Hypothesis Group reveals that Roku, based in California, is the top-rated streaming platform in Canada.
The methodology followed by the study took into account 18-70-year-olds who watched at least five hours of TV every week via traditional pay TV, and the results show that Roku is no.1 among Canadian TV streamers, according to a Jan. 27 press release.
"We are proud to lead the Canadian TV streaming market," said Arthur van Rest, vice president International at Roku said in the release. "The Roku brand is growing in Canada with introductions to new streaming devices, original content, and new Canadian entertainment with partners like CBC, Global News, and Crave. Providing simplicity, entertainment, and value is clearly resonating with Canadian consumers, who are choosing our platform to stream TV.”
The study and ranking were based on responses from 2,510 people in October 2021, the release stated. The study also found that 4 in 5 Canadians classify themselves as TV streamers.
"Yellowstone," "TSN Originals," and "CBC Tokyo 2020 Replay" were among the top 10 TV searches, according to the release. The Roku platform is available in more than 20 countries including Germany, Mexico and France.
