As international ecommerce gains traction, BigCommerce is expanding the reach of its ecommerce platform by increasing its footprint in Germany, Spain and Mexico.
The company, which is an open software as a service (SaaS) ecommerce platform that targets fast-growing and established brands, announced the expansion in a Jan. 31 press release, months after a similar rollout in the Netherlands, Italy and France. With its expansion into Mexico, the move also marks BigCommerce’s first foray into Latin America.
“A robust and flexible ecommerce platform that can grow in parallel with business needs is critical for merchants to gain solid footing in today’s increasingly digital world," Meghan Stabler, vice president of international marketing at BigCommerce, said in the release. "This is the competitive advantage BigCommerce offers to retailers in our newest regions.”
Stabler also noted in the release that when the platform is paired with local support and resources to establish a brand, businesses can connect with online consumers and develop relationships.
BigCommerce solutions enable companies to enhance the online shopping experience for consumers and prepares them to operate in today’s ever-changing online landscape, Stabler said.
BigCommerce's platform offers secure payment capabilities in multiple languages and currencies, the release stated.
