Marqeta 'excited' to expand payment platform in Asia

Marqeta, a global modern card issuing platform, announced Jan. 27 its payments platform is now certified in Singapore, the Philippines, and Thailand.

The company's platform is now available in 39 countries, according to a company release.

“Marqeta is a single, global platform, allowing our customers to build once and launch anywhere,” Vidya Peters, chief operating officer at Marqeta said in the release. “We’re constantly assessing where our customers are looking to launch, and what markets hold the most immediate potential for our technology. We’re excited to support new card programs in these new markets and to enable our customers’ global expansion ambitions throughout 2022.”

Marqeta’s platform is available in five countries in the Asia-Pacific region and Singapore will serve as the company's regional hub, according to the release.

Headquartered in Oakland, California, Marqeta provides instant access to cloud-based payment infrastructure, enabling customers to "launch and manage their own card programs, issue cards and authorize and settle transactions," the release stated.
