A global engineered pipe services company has been awarded $6 million in contracts in Egypt and Saudi Arabia for projects involving major infrastructure developments.
Perma-Pipe International Holdings Inc., with corporate headquarters in Niles, Illinois, will execute the projects during the current quarter as part of major infrastructure developments in Al-Alamin, Egypt, and Misk City, Saudi Arabia, a press release said.
"This is a significant award from Egyptian Group for Electromechanical (EGEMECH), which reinforces our partnership together. Growth in the fabrication market has been part our strategic plan, and we are proud to we have achieved this goal in 2021, Adham Sharkawy, general manager for Perma-Pipe Egypt, said.
The Misk City, Saudi Arabia, developments, in particular will help with the city's design.
“Misk City is designed to be sustainable, pedestrian-friendly and to have green open spaces to promote sustainable development,” Raed Al Saleh, general manager for Perma-Pipe Saudi Arabia, said in the press release. “It is exciting to be part of this master plan, providing a cost-effective, energy-efficient system that reduces greenhouse emissions to enhance sustainability.”
The project award in Egypt is further confirmation of Perma-Pipe’s success in establishing a position in a growing local market, Saleh Sagr, senior vice president for Perma-Pipe’s Middle East and North Africa region, said in the press release.
Perma-Pipe President and CEO David Mansfield said the company is “delighted with both of these awards.”
“It has been encouraging to see the development of strong leadership and a passion for high levels of customer service that has resulted in these accomplishments,” Mansfield said in the press release.
The projects will benefit from Perma-Pipe’s fabrication and coating strengths, as well as the XTRU-THERM insulation system, which combines a spray-applied polyurethane foam with a high-density polyethylene casing, the press release said.
