AptPay has partnered with EML Payments to power its inaugural gaming and gambling General Purpose Reloadable program in Canada, according to a report by Business Wire.

The program will feature Woodbine Entertainment, Canada’s largest horse racing operator.

Physical cards are currently tap-ready for contactless payment throughout Canada. The partnership of EML and AptPay provides a digital and physical payment solution for instant disbursement of winnings.

''Through this incredible partnership for AptPay with Woodbine's HPIbet, consumers can finally receive their winnings in real-time from wagering,” Shams Syed, CEO at AptPay, said according to the report. “They can push money directly to accepting bank accounts or have a reloadable prepaid card issued instantly. This is the first program in Canada allowing winnings to be instantly disbursed to patrons.”

According to its website, EML’s core business is to utilize its innovative payment solutions platform to help businesses around the world. EML's in-person gambling, and in-app gaming products can also help casinos go cashless through AptPay's integrated platform, the report stated. The company is based in Brisbane, Australia.

“EML is delighted to support AptPay's gaming and gambling ambitions in Canada and future growth plans across the North American market,'' Ailie Kofoid, CEO Americas at EML said.
