A Japanese-inspired variety store offering a wide range of selected goods for young people will expand across North America by Dec. 31, according to a press release from MINISO, a Japanese lifestyle product retailer.

MINISO announced they plan to open new stores throughout the U.S. and Canada. Andrew Xie, CEO of MINISO North America, said the expansion makes sense with the approaching holiday season.

"Despite the pandemic, MINISO has maintained a strong performance and has exciting plans to open in new markets across North America," Xie said in a press release. "Consumers are in for a joyous surprise when they get to know us in these untapped areas. The East Coast is now enjoying the MINISO retail experience previously only (available) on the West Coast. There are really no other $10 stores that offer the quality that MINISO is known for coupled with a fun shopping experience. Our expansion comes at a perfect time for holiday shopping. We stand by our promise that a better life has nothing to do with the price."

MINISO, is known for a cheerful brand, with products aimed at a $10 price point. The company intends to open 53 locations in the U.S. with another 55 in Canada, according to the press release.

Stores will have the company’s brand of "10 N' Under", along with the motto “Within Ten Beyond Trend” to try and make the store the No. 1 $10 and under store on the continent. Stores will feature items like plush toys, home décor, wellness and beauty products, electronics and more.
