Sherrese Clarke Soares launched the HarborView Equity Partners investment firm, seeking to expand global investment opportunities in media and entertainment.

Backed by Apollo Global Management, Clarke Soares said the firm will focus on buying music, media and entertainment assets, according to a release Oct. 7.

"This strategic relationship with HarbourView allows Apollo and our clients to make meaningful commitments to growth-oriented intellectual property in the entertainment space, extending our platform's access to proprietary origination," Apollo Senior Partner and Global Head of Structured Corporate Credit and ABS Bret Leas said in the release. "Technology platforms continue to democratize content creation and increase consumption, and this momentum creates a new wave of investment opportunities that we think HarbourView will be well placed to capitalize on."

Prior to HarborView, Clark Soares worked as the founder and CEO of Tempo Music. She will contribute the knowledge she has gained from over 20 years of working in the entertainment and media industries as she looks to the launch of the new firm under the belief that “content is Queen,” the release states.

According to the release, the launch is supported by a group of individuals with investment and financial service expertise in music, film, TV and sports. As Apollo joins the team, they state the relationship is part of a firm-wide initiative to broaden and diversify their talent and partnerships for a more inclusive environment.

The initiative also serves as a way for HarbourView, which will be headquartered in Newark, New Jersey, to invest in assets and companies driven by premier intellectual property, the release states.
