Procter & Gamble has committed to several initiatives to advance causes important to company leadership as well as the company's customers.
One of those causes is Hispanic Progress in America. Procter & Gamble is kicking off Hispanic Heritage Month with a new initiative dedicated to speeding the progress of United States Hispanic communities. It created 'Powering Progress,' a film showing that Hispanic progress is a good thing for America.
According to its press release: “With the support of Hispanic Star, P&G and P&G brands like Always, Tampax, Vicks, Old Spice, Crest and Oral-B are creating and helping expand programs to empower Latino communities."
Among the programs that P&G is kicking off are the Always School Program, Capitanes del Futuro, and Nurse Heroes.
This is not the first time that Procter & Gamble has dedicated finances and resources to the Hispanic community. During the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the company, according to a press release, “helped raise over $2 million, as well as donated over 5 million products for immediate relief, reaching over 325,000 families.”
In addition, Procter & Gamble has reaffirmed its goal toward Net Zero GHG Emissions by 2040. According to a press release, its Scope 3 Goals are as follows: Reducing supply chain emissions from priority categories by 40% per unit of production by 2030 (P&G priority categories account for over 90% of P&G’s supply chain emissions) and reducing global upstream finished product freight emissions intensity by 50% by 2030.
