Denver, Colorado-based Vantage Data Centers has made two new acquisitions that will allow the company to expand into the Asia-Pacific market.

The new locations were purchased through DigitalBridge Investment Management, the company’s major stakeholder, and other investors who contributed $1.5 billion. With the acquisition, Vantage services will reach throughout Tokyo, Osaka, Melbourne, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur to hyper-scale, cloud and enterprise customers, a Vantage press release said.

“Following successful expansions throughout the United States, Canada and Europe over the past three years, we are expanding to Asia Pacific to better serve customers on a global basis," Sureel Choksi, president and CEO, Vantage Data Centers, said in the press release. "The key to our global expansion has been finding well-aligned partners who bring local expertise, an established footprint, a strong management team and the ability to scale quickly.”

The new locations include the Agile Data Centers, an Asia-Pacific region data center provider developing greenfield hyperscale campuses with a total of 168MW of IT load for Toyko, and PCCW Ltd, one of the regions leading data centers with nearly 100MW of critical IT load across many facilities in Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpar.

Giles Proctor, former president of Agile Data Centers, will now serve as the president of Vantage's APAC business and lead 150 employees in closing PCCW. Brian Groen, senior vice president of data centers of PCCW, will move his position to senior vice president of APAC after closing, the release said.

Vantage Data Centers also serves North America and Europe.
