California-based Crosscope and KFBIO join forces to lead digital transformation of pathology in India

An AI software provider in digital pathology is collaborating with a high-tech whole slide imaging pathology scanner manufacturer to provide scanners to the Indian market.

California-based Crosscope and Ningbo Konfoong Bioinformtaion Tech Co., LTD (KFBIO) are partnering on the project in an effort to provide relief for cancer, the country’s formidable disease with over 1.39 million cases per year.

Dr. Jayendra Shinde, CEO of Crosscope, said in a press release that collaboration was key in improving cancer-related health care in the country.

"Pathology is on the cusp of digital transformation and Crosscope is very much dedicated to offer end-to-end digital pathology solutions to bridge gaps and usher in a new phase of personalized diagnostics," Shinde said. "Crosscope is excited to team up with KFBIO to provide their scanners alongside our cutting-edge AI-software and collaboration platform to enable Oncopathology automation for our customers. Digitization of pathology is a key area for the use of AI-based diagnostic algorithms to speed up and improve the diagnosis making an impact in reducing India's cancer burden."

The digitization of the pathology using KFBIO scanners, with the aid of pathologists to detect histopathology slides, in association with Crosscope will bring the state of art whole slide Imaging scanners to India and emerging markets.

Whole slide imaging will permit for digitizing glass slides to high-resolution digital images, making the workflow of histopathology faster.
