Inc. magazine has included a private vocational school in Texas on its Inc. 5000 list with Divergence Academy ranking 556th out of the 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in the U.S.
Divergence was established in 2014, marking the first data science-focused institution in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
"Divergence Academy was developed to provide reskilling and upskilling opportunities to both private citizens and veterans alike," Divergence Academy Founder and CEO Sravan Ankaraju said in a press release. "This incredible honor underscores what we know to be true—our cybersec, data and cloud courses have changed the lives and livelihoods of hundreds of learners, even amidst a global pandemic."
The Divergence website states that the organization is "making a new world of education at the intersection of product, marketing and technology accessible to students and professionals pursuing careers in hybrid roles through our Innovation with Analytics approach. Our Data to Data Product is a custom learning solution for corporations. It is the result of our deep domain knowledge in big data and analytics, blended learning approaches with seamless assimilation of online content from different sources into the learner’s experience, and mentor-driven models along with labs and knowledge back office to maximize training with results."
Industry giants such as Microsoft, Under Armour and Patagonia all received their first national recognition on the Inc. 5000 list, according to the press release. The 5,000 companies recognized by the magazine have added over 610,000 jobs since 2018, according to the press release.
Inc. magazine Editor-in-Chief Scott Omelianuk lauded the list members for "building in the crisis we've lived through" in the press release. Reaching over 50 million followers every month, Inc. Media has published the Inc. 5,000 list on an annual basis since 1982.
