Major 911 emergency systems and wireless technology company Comtech has announced that it was awarded a contract with a Canadian tier-one mobile network operator to supply 5G location services, according to a press release

"Comtech is honored to announce this further international expansion of our 5G service offerings," Comtech Chairman of the Board and CEO Fred Kornberg said in a press release. "We continue to expand our 5G footprint globally in support of the larger capacity and faster speeds it provides to end users, supporting innovation in public safety and other businesses."

The group awarded the contract was Comtech’s Trusted Location group, according to the press release. This group works to provide precise device location, mapping and messaging solutions for public safety, mobile network operators, and enterprise solutions.

The company has clients worldwide, according to the press release.

Comtech is headquartered in Melville, New York, and designs, produces and markets its secure wireless solutions to customers in more than 100 countries, according to the release.

The company's location website says that it has been in business for more than 25 years.

"Our secure, innovative location and messaging solutions are designed to support interconnected, cloud-based applications across various business verticals," its website states. "The Comtech team worked with motorsports giant Polaris Inc. to develop a customized location platform and navigation application for their motorcycles."

Comtech was also recently awarded a contract valued at up to $4.7 million with a channel partner to supply new releases to messaging application software for a U.S. tier-one mobile network operator.

That contract was awarded to Comtech’s Trusted Location group, a leading provider of precise device location, mapping and messaging solutions for public safety, mobile network operators, and enterprise solutions.
