Folks in the land down under will be able to purchase Kim Kardashian West's Skims product line next year without paying for international shipping and jumping through other hoops.
Television personality and entrepreneur Kardashian West, famous for being famous, last week announced her new partnership with David Jones stores in Australia to stock her intimate wear brand "Skims Down Under," according to news.com.au.
The partnership is a three-way win that opens up the Aussie market for Skims, gives David Jones exclusive rights to sell Skims domestically and ends lengthy shipping costs and times fans of the Kardashian West underwear, shapewear and loungewear line long have endured.
"I'm so excited to see Skims launch in Australia and can't wait for everyone to experience the brand in real life at David Jones," Kardashian West said in a recent statement. "The quality, fit and feel of our collections are so important and I'm thrilled customers will now be able to experience that first-hand."
Kardashian West launched Skims in 2019. In April, Forbes reported that Kardashian West is worth $1 billion, in part thanks to Skims.
Right now, Aussies who want Skims, or many other international brand items, have to shop online, pay $15 AU or more in international shipping and then wait at least 14 days for their purchase to – hopefully – arrive.
Skims is all about body positivity, targeting all women who want comfortable and attractive intimate wear, Bridget Veals, David Jones womenswear and accessories general manager, told news.com.au.
"Skims is already a highly sought-after brand in our market, so we are delighted that we can make it accessible for our customers to try and engage with in-store with support from our team of fitting experts, and of course shop via our website," Veals told news.com.au.
Skims wear will begin appearing in David Jones stores next spring.
David Jones, Australia's leading premium retailer, is owned by the South African retail group Woolworths Holdings Limited.
