Growth-capital solutions provider Clearco has expanded its leadership team with two new hires, including longtime Clearco advisor and investor Ruma Bose joining as the chief growth officer.
The other addition to the company is that of Sarah Clark, who led Paypal's growth across EMEA and has held senior roles at Barclays Bank, Virgin Group, Sainsbury's and British Airways. Clark has joined as Clearco's UK Head to become the world's largest e-commerce investor's first international country manager, a press release said.
"Clearco continues to lead the world in the growth-capital space with our unique pay-as-you-grow model," Clearco Co-Founder and President Michelle Romanow said in the press release. "We are excited to welcome Ruma. She is an inspirational leader with an impressive track record and an incredible global network."
Bose will be responsible for ensuring the company has the right strategy to win outside of North America, guiding its entry into multiple markets across Europe and Asia Pacific this year, the press release said.
“We know she will do an outstanding job delivering our ambitious international expansion plans," Romanow said. "She brings the passion and commitment needed to lead our mission-driven company as we enter new markets and truly change the world for entrepreneurs and those they serve."
Clearco is using its pay-as-you-grow model to expand its worldwide team of e-commerce investors. In addition, it plans to start its expansion into Asia-Pacific markets by the end of 2021, according to the release. The decision for Bose's appointment follows a launch in the UK last October and the Netherlands last month, with plans already drafted to further expand into other European territories.
The company's Series C capital was raised at an almost $2 billion valuation and coincided with a rebranding from Clearbanc to Clearco. It entered the European market alongside 250 other UK companies, including Druids Golf, Safiyaa and Piglet, investing more than £70M.
“Every founder building a business in the UK should be working with Clearco and I'm excited to help make that possible," Clark said in the release.
