Binance announced it has earned ISO/IEC 42001 certification, a global standard for responsible AI governance. This marks a step in its adoption of ethical, transparent, and secure artificial intelligence practices across its operations.
ISO/IEC 42001:2023 is the world’s first international standard focused on managing artificial intelligence systems. It sets guidelines for how organizations can build, operate, and continuously improve AI governance, emphasizing responsibility, transparency, risk management, and oversight throughout the AI lifecycle. The standard applies to organizations that develop or use AI-powered products and services.
According to Binance, the ISO/IEC 42001 certification reflects its approach to managing AI across its operations through a unified governance framework. The company said that the system helps streamline compliance and auditing processes while allowing AI governance to scale using defined roles and existing operational structures. Binance described the certification as part of its broader effort to support ethical, transparent, and secure innovation as AI use grows.
Binance also recently highlighted its full regulatory authorization from Abu Dhabi Global Market’s Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) as a separate compliance milestone. The company noted that this approval allows it to operate under FSRA oversight in ADGM. External reports characterized the authorization as full regulatory approval aligning with Binance’s efforts to meet regulated-market standards.
Founded in 2017, Binance has grown into a leading global blockchain ecosystem with the world’s largest digital asset exchange by trading volume. It offers products across trading, custody, payments, research, education, and institutional services. The company’s mission is to build the core infrastructure for tomorrow’s crypto-powered financial system with a user-first approach emphasizing security, transparency, and regulatory alignment in major markets worldwide.
