UBS will present "Beyond Pop: Art of the Everyday" at Art Basel Miami Beach 2025, highlighting a new commission by artist Katherine Bernhardt. The exhibition aims to explore the intersection between fine art and pop culture. The UBS Lounge will showcase Bernhardt’s newly commissioned painting, "Superstorm (2025)," along with works from the UBS Art Collection.

John Mathews, Head of Private Wealth Management, Americas at UBS, stated, “UBS is proud to continue our longstanding partnership with Art Basel Miami Beach, a collaboration that began with the fair’s debut in 2002. As the U.S. remains the world’s largest center for art trade, the fair serves as a vital hub for global exchange and a unique opportunity to engage with our clients around the ideas and cultural forces shaping the world today. At UBS, we’ve built a decades-long tradition of connecting clients with contemporary art to broaden perspectives, spark conversation and enrich experiences.”

The lounge will feature works by artists who use everyday objects and materials in their art. Alongside Bernhardt's piece, recent acquisitions by Gabriel de la Mora and Hilary Pecis will be displayed, as well as works by Hong Hao, Claes Oldenberg, Ed Ruscha, Wayne Thiebaud and Andy Warhol.

Mary Rozell, Global Head of the UBS Art Collection said: “The works on view at this year’s UBS Lounge focus on the everyday objects that surround us in our lives. Through these artistic interpretations, including the incredible new commission by Katherine Bernhardt, pop culture meets fine art. The UBS presentations at the fair showcase UBS’s commitment to supporting art that deepens perspectives and inspire conversations.”

The UBS Art Studio will also continue with this theme through additional pieces from its collection. This includes more work from Bernhardt such as her Pink Panther painting and mushroom-shaped beanbag creations; other artists featured are Pae White, Michael Craig-Martin, Anne Collier and Do Ho Suh. A video filmed in Bernhardt’s studio will be shown in both spaces during the event.

Art Basel's new digital initiative “Zero 10,” curated by Eli Scheinman, will include twelve international exhibitors. Among them is Shanghai-based multimedia artist Lu Yang whose work "DOKU-Heaven (2022)"—on loan from UBS—uses motion-capture choreography and 3D animation to examine consciousness and transformation in digital spaces.

UBS will host a public panel discussion titled "Beyond Trends: Building a Timeless Collection" on December 6 at 2:30 pm as part of Art Basel Miami Beach's Conversations program.

As Supporting School Access Partner for Art Basel Miami Beach for a fourth year running, UBS is providing complimentary tickets to nearly 1,000 students from local schools including KIPP Miami and New World School of the Arts. This initiative offers educational access to modern and contemporary art experiences for young people in Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
