Media accreditation is now open for the 14th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization (WTO), scheduled to take place in Cameroon. Journalists and other media representatives interested in covering the event are required to ensure they meet the specified criteria on the WTO website before submitting their applications. Non-governmental organizations must follow a separate accreditation process, while delegations should use their designated channels.
Applicants need to provide a scanned letter of assignment from their editor on official letterhead and a digital passport photo. Once reviewed, successful applicants will receive a confirmation letter by email. The WTO provides a detailed explanation of the accreditation procedure online.
Accreditation for the conference does not automatically allow entry into Cameroon, as most nationalities require a visa. Information regarding visa requirements for journalists will be posted when available.
The Ministerial Conference serves as the highest decision-making body within the WTO, as established by the Marrakesh Agreement. It brings together trade ministers and senior officials from all 164 member countries at least every two years to address key issues facing global trade policy.
For additional information or updates about media arrangements and visa requirements, journalists are encouraged to visit the WTO’s official page or contact media.accreditation@wto.org.
