Amazon has announced that Amazon Web Services (AWS) will become the official cloud provider of the DP World Tour. This global partnership aims to enhance media, fan, player, and operational experiences through artificial intelligence (AI), according to a company press release.
According to the announcement, AWS will supply the DP World Tour with AI-driven systems that merge real-time tournament data with historical context to improve broadcasts, social media engagement, and player analytics. The release explains that AWS Media Services will support fast-round compilations, data-driven insights, and new forms of multilingual, generative-AI-based shot commentary for global audiences. The DP World Tour will also implement an AI-powered Media Asset Management system that automatically tags content, converts massive archives into searchable libraries, and enables fans to access personalized video experiences.
The press release states that AWS will power the next generation of the Tour’s "Virtual Twin," a digital course replica that processes more than one million data points per event. This system combines predictive analytics and historical data for spectators. It notes that this system will allow fans on-site to view real-time action from any hole via venue screens and mobile devices, enhancing situational awareness. For event operations, Amazon Bedrock and Amazon Quick Suite will introduce agentic AI features that optimize marshal deployment, concession management, queue updates, and crowd-flow data, providing staff with instant, data-driven decision support.
Amazon reported that AWS will also support the DP World Tour’s long-term goal of delivering intelligent, scalable "Tournament-As-A-Service" capabilities across its global schedule starting in 2026. The release highlights that sustainability is a major pillar of the partnership. AWS will power Green Drive Live, a platform used to monitor energy consumption, waste management, emissions tracking, water use monitoring and logistics in real time. Machine-learning simulations will allow tournament planners to test environmental scenarios before events begin. Live sustainability dashboards available at venues and in tournament apps aim to provide transparent metrics to spectators.
According to Amazon’s corporate profile, Amazon Web Services is described as "the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform," offering more than 240 fully featured services across AI, analytics, compute storage media networking and mobile. AWS supports millions of organizations including startups enterprises and government agencies across 38 geographic regions with additional regions in development. Amazon notes that AWS continues to expand global infrastructure to help customers scale operations reduce costs and innovate rapidly in sectors ranging from sports media logistics public services.
