UBS Group AG announced several changes to its Group Executive Board, effective January 1, 2026, following the nomination of Markus Ronner as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors. Ronner, who has served as Group Chief Compliance and Governance Officer since 2018, will be nominated for the Vice Chairman role at the Annual General Meeting in April 2026.
Michelle Bereaux, currently Group Integration Officer, will assume the position of Group Head Compliance and Operational Risk Control. Bereaux has played a significant part in integrating Credit Suisse into UBS, including completing client migrations outside Switzerland and transferring about two-thirds of clients within Switzerland. UBS aims to finish the integration of Credit Suisse by the end of 2026. In her new role, Bereaux will focus on managing non-financial risks for the organization and will step down from her current integration responsibilities.
Beatriz Martin, Head of Non-Core and Legacy, will become Group Chief Operating Officer. Martin’s new responsibilities will include overseeing sustainability and impact initiatives, finalizing the Credit Suisse integration, managing group operations, and leading internal consulting and governance teams. She will also continue as President EMEA and UK Chief Executive. Her focus will be on aligning UBS business divisions and managing key strategic projects.
Mike Dargan, as Group Chief Technology Officer, will continue to advance UBS’s technology platforms. His efforts will concentrate on keeping these platforms efficient and resilient while adapting to the organization’s changing needs. Dargan will also emphasize opportunities in areas such as artificial intelligence and digital assets.
Responsibility for Governmental and Regulatory Affairs is being transferred to Group CFO Todd Tuckner. Additionally, Group Security functions will move under Stefan Seiler, who leads Group Human Resources and Corporate Services.
Group CEO Sergio P. Ermotti commented on the leadership changes: “Markus’s foundational work over the past 15 years helped shape the firm’s legal structure and governance. Since joining the Group Executive Board in 2018 in his current role as Group Chief Compliance and Governance Officer, Markus has established industry-leading compliance, financial crime prevention and operational risk control, as well as a robust regulatory management and resolvability framework for UBS. I thank Markus for his outstanding contributions and look forward to continuing to work with him in his new role.”
