The World Trade Organization (WTO) has introduced a new interactive tool called the Monthly Merchandise Trade Statistics, aimed at providing users with detailed insights into global trade trends.
The tool includes three main dashboards. The Short-Term Insights dashboard presents total trade values and growth rates by product for a selected economy, giving users a snapshot of recent performance and trends. The Bilateral Trade dashboard displays trade values and bilateral shares between two selected reporters, allowing for analysis of key trading relationships and product-level dynamics. The All Partners dashboard shows trade values, growth rates, and partner shares for a selected economy, highlighting important partners and changes in trade patterns.
The dashboards offer data from 2018 up to the most recent month available for each economy. Users can view trade flows on a monthly, quarterly, or year-to-date basis, enabling both detailed and comparative analysis of trade performance over time. According to the WTO, this tool is designed to support policymakers, researchers, and businesses in understanding the dynamics of international trade.
