Protests are taking place in Bogotá on October 10, 2025, according to a notice from the U.S. Embassy in Colombia. The demonstrations are occurring at Calle 69 and Carrera 7 in Chapinero, moving south along Carrera 7 from Universidad Pedagógica toward the National University. There have also been reports of protests on El Dorado that could impact travel to the airport.
The embassy stated that previous protests have led to road closures, graffiti, and confrontations with police. It will continue monitoring protest activity and provide updates if necessary.
In its advisory, the embassy recommended: "Avoid crowds and protests. Be aware of your surroundings. Wear little to no jewelry and carry few valuables. Keep a low profile. Avoid using your cell phone in public. Do not physically resist any robbery attempt. Keep car doors locked, and windows rolled up. Monitor local news media for updates."
