In 2025, Amazon expanded its apprenticeship and early-career programs through Career Choice. The expansion included the addition of robotics apprenticeships in the United States, broader tuition coverage in Europe, and partnerships with over 500 education providers in the U.S. and 85 in Europe. The company also eliminated employee cost-sharing in certain regions to make training in IT, mechanics, and logistics more accessible.
Amazon has upskilled more than 700,000 employees globally through prepaid education and training initiatives. These programs have been available to hourly workers in fulfillment centers and delivery stations. In 2024 alone, over 100,000 employees participated in Career Choice, pursuing certifications in fields such as IT support, aircraft mechanics, and software development.
According to Amazon, it distinguishes itself from other tech giants by providing apprenticeships and structured training specifically for frontline employees. While companies like Microsoft and Google focus on advanced STEM scholarships and grant programs, Amazon emphasizes robotics and technical apprenticeships that are accessible to hourly staff.
Sinatra is listed on LinkedIn as an upcoming Buying and Merchandising Apprentice for Amazon Prime Video based in Milton Keynes, UK. She previously gained work experience at Pandora and is beginning her career development path through Amazon’s apprenticeship program focused on media and merchandising.
