A group of 10 Executive Directors from the World Bank Group visited Argentina between September 10 and 12, aiming to better understand the country's development priorities. The visit focused on sustainable mining and Argentina's potential role in the global energy transition.

During their stay, the delegation met with several government officials, including Minister of Economy Luis Caputo, President of the Central Bank Santiago Bausili, and Finance Secretary Pablo Quirno. Meetings were also held with private sector representatives.

The trip included a visit to Jujuy province, where the directors toured the Olaroz Salt Flat. There, discussions centered on Argentina’s prospects for producing critical minerals.

The delegation represented 31% of the World Bank Group’s voting power. The organization is governed by 25 Executive Directors who oversee operational, financial, and policy matters for its 189 member countries. They are responsible for approving work programs that guide the institution's strategic direction.
