A group of Executive Directors from the World Bank Group visited Chile this week to observe the country's initiatives in green energy transition and water security. The delegation represented 59 countries, accounting for 31% of the board.

During their visit, the directors met with both public and private sector representatives to discuss Chile's advancements in electromobility, green hydrogen production, critical minerals, and desalination technology.

Chile has been implementing policies focused on energy transition, climate resilience, and environmentally friendly economic growth. Finance Minister Nicolás Grau commented on these efforts: "These industries are a driver for growth and job creation, and their development requires public-private collaboration," while also expressing appreciation for the support provided by the World Bank Group.

Nathalie Francken, serving as spokesperson for the delegation, highlighted Chile's achievements in gender equality and its role on the global stage. She stated: “Chile is showing how bold policies on green energy and climate resilience can translate into real opportunities for sustainable growth. Our visit allows us not only to support these efforts but also to bring Chile’s lessons to the global stage, where many countries are grappling with the same challenges.”

The World Bank Group delegation plans to continue their regional tour with a stop in Argentina.
