Power in Perseverance, an interactive photobook, documents the experiences of Yemeni women entrepreneurs who have started and grown businesses despite ongoing conflict and economic challenges. The collection uses photographs and storytelling to highlight how these women are adapting to difficult circumstances, creating opportunities for themselves and their communities.
The photobook features the stories of 20 women from various sectors, including home-based kitchens, engineering offices, fashion studios, and sewing workshops. These entrepreneurs have faced obstacles such as limited access to financial resources, unstable markets, and persistent gender norms. Despite these barriers, they have managed to support their families and contribute economically within their communities.
An accompanying report provides further analysis of the social, economic, and personal aspects of these women's entrepreneurial journeys. The project aims to shed light on both the difficulties faced by Yemeni women in business and the ways they have demonstrated resilience.
