Since its inception in 2019, Trade and Environment Week has become a significant platform for discussing the intersection of trade and environmental issues. Centered around the Committee on Trade and Environment (CTE) meeting, the event aims to enhance dialogue on emerging environmental challenges that have trade implications. It serves as a venue for World Trade Organization (WTO) members to interact with business leaders, international organizations, academic experts, civil society, and environmental practitioners. The forum encourages sharing insights, experiences, and actionable ideas.

The 2025 edition will include 15 sessions covering various critical topics in the trade and environment agenda. These topics encompass the global battle against plastics pollution, sustainable agriculture practices, green transitions in developing economies, carbon pricing strategies, deforestation regulations, the future of sustainable fuels, and climate policy measures related to trade.

The CTE meeting will further discussions under a comprehensive work program focused on trade and environment issues as per the Committee's mandate. Since its formation in 1995, the CTE has promoted dialogue among all WTO members regarding the relationship between trade policies and environmental concerns.

All sessions during Trade and Environment Week are open to public participation. The full program details, along with information on live webcasts and registration for attending in person, are available online.
