Siemens has announced plans to establish a data center hub in Madrid, Spain. This move aims to support the rapidly growing data center sector with innovative solutions that optimize efficiency and reduce resource consumption. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), global data center energy consumption reached 415 TWh in 2024 and is projected to more than double by 2030.
The new Iberian hub will leverage Siemens' design and simulation technologies, enabling sustainable transformation of data center infrastructure with customized solutions tailored to specific customer needs. This expansion follows the successful launch of Siemens' Nordic data center hub and reinforces its commitment to helping Iberia become a leading digital hub in southern Europe.
"The inauguration of this hub underlines the importance of the data center market for Siemens, both globally and specifically for Iberia,” said Fernando Silva, CEO of Siemens Spain. “With this new infrastructure, we will multiply our network of technical experts supporting our customers in their requirement for sustainability, efficiency, and operational reliability of their data centers."
The expert team based in Madrid will offer comprehensive support across various areas including power solutions, infrastructure management, automation, digital twins, thermal optimization, fire safety, physical security, microgrids, as well as lifecycle and financial services. With an end-to-end portfolio and a robust ecosystem of partners, Siemens aims to scale capacity and drive innovation within the industry.
