PEMBROKE, Bermuda – July 15, 2025 – AXIS Capital Holdings Limited announced the appointment of Moustafa Abdelrahman as Senior Underwriter and Assistant Vice President for Renewable Energy. He will be based in Toronto, marking the company's first renewables property underwriter in Canada.
Moustafa will support the growth of AXIS's Renewable Energy portfolio, focusing on underwriting construction and operational property risks across clean energy technologies such as wind, solar, hydroelectric, and battery storage. He will collaborate with brokers and customers and work alongside Global Energy colleagues in the United States and London to create tailored solutions for Canadian organizations. He will report to Sam Walsh, Head of North America Renewable Energy.
Moustafa has a background in technical underwriting and renewable energy expertise. He was previously a Senior Analyst at Brookfield Renewable, dealing with policy placement, acquisition due diligence, and claims review within a diverse renewable energy portfolio. Before that, he held roles at Intact Insurance specializing in renewable energy risks.
