Registration is now open for the 6th WHO-WIPO-WTO Trilateral Cooperation Technical Webinar, scheduled for July 3 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm (CET/Geneva time). The event will be conducted in English and hosted virtually by the World Health Organization (WHO).

The webinar aims to explore public procurement policies as a strategic tool for innovation and improved access to health products. By aligning procurement strategies with health and industrial priorities, governments can potentially reduce costs, foster technology transfer, promote partnerships, stimulate domestic research and development, and enhance supply chain resilience.

Participants will have the opportunity to share experiences and evidence on public procurement of health products. Speakers are expected to exchange perspectives on best practices in leveraging public procurement to incentivize innovation.

This initiative is part of the trilateral cooperation between WHO, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and the World Trade Organization (WTO). These organizations collaborate on capacity-building activities that provide updated technical information related to innovation and access to health technologies.

The core objective of these workshops and webinars is "to strengthen the capacity of policymakers and experts in member governments by facilitating access to expertise, data, and evidence," as well as "to deepen discussions of critical issues at the intersection of public health, intellectual property (IP) and trade."

The webinar is open to the public with online registration available.
