UOB and the SG Eco Fund have entered into a two-year partnership to enhance community awareness of sustainability through art. This collaboration is part of UOB's 90th-anniversary activities, focusing on community engagement and accessibility to art.

The Green Mosaic programme, a central element of this partnership, includes three main initiatives. These are the creation of green murals at five community locations across Singapore, a sustainability literacy campaign with workshops by SG Eco Fund grant recipients, and targeted sessions to foster collaboration between UOB clients and partners with SG Eco Fund recipients.

Eric Lim, Chief Sustainability Officer at UOB, expressed the bank's commitment: "UOB is pleased to partner the SG Eco Fund to foster environmental stewardship among the community through art and education." He highlighted that this initiative aligns with UOB's dedication to supporting both environmental efforts and community engagement as part of their anniversary celebrations.

Phua Mei Pin, Trust Secretary at SG Eco Fund, stated: "The SG Eco Fund supports initiatives that empower the community to take action for environmental sustainability." She emphasized the importance of combining UOB's network with their approach to amplify grassroots initiatives' impact.

The Green Mosaic Programme was launched at Brickland Green Festival 2025 in Chua Chu Kang Town. The first mural titled "A New Day," created by artist Abu Jalal Sarimon alongside over 120 volunteers from diverse backgrounds, aims to connect viewers with nature through art. It seeks to raise awareness about human-wildlife coexistence amid Singapore's efforts to integrate nature into urban areas. The mural launch was attended by several dignitaries including Dr Tan See Leng, Minister for Manpower.

This mural is one of five planned artworks involving various community members and institutions like Singapore Polytechnic. These projects aim not only to beautify spaces but also serve as reminders of environmental responsibility.

UOB continues its role as a leading patron of arts in Asia through these initiatives. Their flagship programme, UOB Painting of the Year competition since 1982, supports Southeast Asian artists while making art more accessible across communities.
