U.S. Embassy Manila and the U.S. Consular Agency Cebu have announced additional details about a remote service event in Iloilo, scheduled for May 8, 2025. This event will feature the American Citizen Services (ACS) unit, representatives from the Social Security Administration, and the Veterans Affairs Administration.
The event will offer various services. ACS will handle Consular Report of Birth Abroad applications, U.S. passport applications, and provide notarial services. The Social Security office will assist with benefits and claims, Social Security Number applications, and various post-entitlement issues. Veterans Affairs will address VA benefits and claims inquiries while also offering mental and physical health services, including immunizations, health screenings, and resources for suicide prevention.
The event will be held at Central Philippine University's Henry Luce III Library Conference Room 1 in Jaro, Iloilo City. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. ACS and Social Security services are available from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with VA services continuing until 4:00 p.m. Services will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early due to expected high demand.
Participants are advised to bring originals and photocopies of all required documents, as embassy personnel cannot provide printing or copying services. ACS customers should pay online in advance or bring exact change in Philippine pesos for service fees.
Passport applicants are advised to follow instructions on the U.S. Embassy website closely. "Incomplete applications may not be accepted," and applicants must bring passport photos meeting the specified criteria. Certain cases require in-person applications, including first-time applicants and minors.
Payment for services will be accepted only in Philippine pesos and only in exact change. The event provides detailed information on fees, ranging from PHP 3,000 for notarial services to PHP 9,900 for adult passport applications.
For additional information, participants can visit the State Department's travel website or enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to stay informed. Contact options for the U.S. Embassy in Manila and emergency numbers are provided for assistance. Updates are also available on social media platforms X and Facebook.
