Barclays has announced the appointment of Jason Short as a Managing Director in its Financial Sponsors Group (FSG), a move aimed at strengthening its agreements with financial sponsor clients on the West Coast. Based in San Francisco, Jason Short will focus on building and sustaining relationships with these clients and the management teams of their portfolio companies.

The appointment forms part of Barclays' strategic efforts to enhance its Investment Banking operations. It follows the recent addition of Isobel van Daesdonk and Scott Willard to the platform in February.

"Developing stronger relationships with financial sponsor clients is critical to Barclays’ future growth strategy," stated Taylor Wright, Global Co-Head of Banking. He emphasized the bank's commitment to a comprehensive coverage model that combines strategic insights with exceptional execution.

Jean-Francois Astier, Global Head of FSG, highlighted Jason Short's experience with "client relationships and industry experience," describing it as an asset in addressing clients' needs and financial objectives. Astier noted that Short would collaborate across Barclays' divisions to offer investment banking solutions that utilize the bank's wide array of products and services.

Jason Short reenters Barclays with nearly 20 years of experience in the financial sector. Before rejoining Barclays, he was a Managing Director at Deutsche Bank, a role he took on in 2019 after earlier holding a position within Barclays' Leveraged Finance Team in New York and London.
