Passport services for U.S. citizens will be available in Panajachel, Sololá, as announced by the U.S. Embassy’s American Citizens Services unit. The services, which do not require an appointment, are scheduled for April 2-3, 2025, at the INGUAT Offices on Calle Principal, Zona 1 in Panajachel.

On Wednesday, April 2, 2025, passport applications will be accepted from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Applicants are advised to check the U.S. Embassy's website for details on documentary requirements and passport application procedures. It is essential to arrive prepared with all documents and copies needed. The embassy emphasizes the importance of prepaying the passport application fee, as cash or credit cards will not be accepted during the sessions.

For those applying using Form DS-11 for a new passport book or card, payment must be made online through pay.gov, and a printed copy of the payment confirmation should accompany the application. Similarly, adults renewing their passport book or card with Form DS-82 must also prepay via pay.gov and include the printed receipt.

For assistance, individuals can contact the U.S. Embassy in Guatemala City or refer to their website.
