The U.S. Embassy in Sri Lanka, together with the U.S.-Sri Lanka Fulbright Commission, has announced that EducationUSA will hold a university fair from March 20-22, 2025, in Colombo, Galle, and Matara. This event offers students seeking undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate programs an opportunity to engage with representatives from nine accredited U.S. universities and colleges.
U.S. Ambassador to Sri Lanka Julie Chung emphasized the value of American universities: “American universities are unmatched – leading the world in technology, innovation and groundbreaking research." She noted a 10 percent increase in Sri Lankan student enrollment in U.S. institutions for the 2023-2024 academic year and expressed hope for continued growth.
Dr. Patrick McNamara of the U.S.-Sri Lanka Fulbright Commission highlighted the significance of educational ties between the two nations: “We are delighted to welcome these top U.S. universities to Sri Lanka."
The fair aims to provide information on academic programs, admissions procedures, scholarships, and financial aid through discussions with university representatives and EducationUSA advisers. The schedule is as follows:
- March 20 at The Kingsbury Hotel in Colombo from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
- March 21 at Radisson Blu Hotel in Galle from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm
