The World Trade Organization (WTO) has introduced an enhanced platform known as the Tariff and Trade Data (TTD) platform. This new tool builds upon the previous Tariff Analysis Online facility, offering improved access to a wide range of data related to tariffs and trade.
The TTD platform compiles official information on applied tariffs and import data reported by WTO members to the organization's Integrated Data Base (IDB). It also includes bound duties and other commitments from the WTO's Consolidated Tariff Schedules (CTS) database. The platform is further enriched by data from the WTO Analytical Database (ADB), which combines information from various WTO sources, including regional trade agreements, as well as external partners like the International Trade Centre, UN Comtrade, and Trade Data Monitor. The update schedule for this data varies from daily to monthly depending on the source.
Key features of the TTD include profiles for over 150 economies with statistical indicators on tariffs and trade, a bilateral trade dataset detailing annual flows by product categories, reports on import and export patterns with values and shares by partner and product, time series reports on aggregated tariffs and trade since 1996, detailed tariff information at the tariff line level, data download capabilities, and a comprehensive inventory of notes on data coverage with links to other WTO portals. Importantly, public access does not require login credentials.
The TTD complements other WTO efforts to develop integrated databases of trade measures across its organization. Additional functionalities are expected in future updates.
