The Sustainability Impact Awards 2025, jointly presented by The Business Times and UOB, are now open for nominations until May 16, 2025. Launched in 2023, the awards aim to recognize leaders and companies that contribute significantly to sustainability development. The Centre for Governance and Sustainability at the National University of Singapore Business School serves as the Knowledge Partner for these awards.
Ms. Chen Huifen, Editor of The Business Times, emphasized the importance of recognizing those who advance responsible capitalism. “It is heartening to see individuals and corporates in Singapore being more conscious of sustainability issues and their connection to business and societal impact," she stated.
Mr. Eric Lim, Chief Sustainability Officer at UOB, highlighted the need for collective action in addressing environmental challenges. He said, “Sustainability is about making transformational and impactful change. To tackle the urgent challenges facing our planet and society, we need the collective action from every member of the community – businesses and individuals alike."
Professor Lawrence Loh from NUS Centre for Governance and Sustainability stressed the importance of steadfastness in sustainability efforts. “In the dynamic business landscape, companies and leaders still have many reasons to remain steadfast in sustainability," he noted.
Past recipients include Ms. Esther An from City Developments Ltd., recognized as an Impact Leader of the Year for her pioneering work in sustainability advocacy. Mr. Preston Wong from treatsure was also acknowledged for his efforts in reducing food waste.
Impact Enterprises of the Year have included City Developments Ltd., Singtel, BlueAcres Pte Ltd., and The Social Kitchen for their various contributions to climate action, community upliftment through digitalization, skills development for individuals with autism, and providing employment opportunities respectively.
