The U.S. Embassy and Dashoguz American Corner, in collaboration with the Dashoguz Regional Library, hosted the inaugural Creative Technology Festival on October 23. The event was supported by the Government of Turkmenistan and Embassy Ashgabat. This festival, known as TechFest, featured various exhibits that included hands-on robotics, virtual reality, 3D printing, and literature about science, English language studies, and educational opportunities in the United States.

Participants engaged in contests focused on coding robots and solving mathematical challenges. The TechFest aimed to highlight programs and resources available at the Dashoguz American Corner in STEM fields. It encouraged local youth to explore different educational and career paths that contribute to Turkmenistan's long-term development.

Public Diplomacy Officer Nona Majidi delivered opening remarks at the event. She emphasized the importance of American Corners in fostering connections between people: “We believe that the American Corners are essential for building connections between people. Beyond English, the American Corner’s STEM programs provide skills and opportunities for diverse educational and career pathways for Turkmenistan’s youth, inspiring them to achieve outstanding accomplishments in science and technology.”

American Corners in Turkmenistan are managed by American Councils with a mission to promote mutual understanding between the United States and Turkmenistan. For more information about these centers, visit their website at https://tm.usembassy.gov/education/american-spaces/
