Siemens Mobility has secured a maintenance contract for the Kuala Lumpur metro trains. Elmar Zeiler, CEO of Siemens Mobility Customer Service, expressed satisfaction with the continued collaboration, stating, "We are pleased to extend our long-standing partnership with the Kuala Lumpur metro system through this important maintenance contract." He emphasized the company's expertise in rail technology and its commitment to sustainability.

Datuk PK Nara, Chairman and Managing Director of SMH Rail, also commented on the partnership's benefits: "Siemens Mobility's proven capabilities and collaborative approach make it the ideal partner to collaborate jointly to recondition the trains on our Kajang MRT Line." He highlighted plans to work closely with Siemens to enhance train performance and longevity.

This contract follows Siemens Mobility's previous work on the Klang Valley MRT Kajang Line project. The company had been responsible for designing trains and supplying components like traction converters, train control systems, and bogies. Local assembly was carried out by SMH Rail under Siemens' supervision.

The new agreement includes provisions for training and supervision from experts at Siemens Mobility Thailand. This strategy aims to optimize lead times and costs. In Bangkok, Siemens provides up to 100% availability for full-service projects on the Blue and Green Lines.

Efforts under this maintenance agreement aim to ensure reliable metro operations in Kuala Lumpur, supporting its transportation infrastructure sustainably as demand grows.
