Barbados offers a range of medical facilities and specialists for residents and visitors. The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) in St. Michael serves as the island's primary trauma center, equipped with 600 beds and various intensive care units. It operates a 24-hour emergency room staffed by physicians and surgeons across multiple specialties. "The QEH has on its staff, physicians and surgeon consultants of almost all specialties," states the facility.

For less severe conditions, Bayview Hospital provides a modern setting with 30 beds for minor surgeries and obstetric care, though it lacks emergency services. Other private facilities include the FMH Emergency Medical Clinic in Belleville, offering specialized accident and emergency care.

Diagnostic services are available at several locations including Diagnostic Radiology Services on Beckles Road, providing X-rays and ultrasounds. Sandy Crest Medical Centre in St. James delivers comprehensive 24-hour medical services, including radiological services like CAT scans.

In addition to hospitals, Barbados hosts numerous specialists in fields such as pediatrics, internal medicine, dentistry, ophthalmology, orthopedics, cardiology, dermatology, neurology among others. Dr. Anne St. John is noted as a pediatrician based at Palm Court on Pine Road.

Dialysis services are provided by SILS Dialysis Barbados located in Belleville. "The U.S. Embassy assumes no responsibility for the professional ability or reputation of the persons whose names appear on this list," cautions an advisory note.
