Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO of Uber, announced that the company will partner with Delta Air Lines starting this spring to offer SkyMiles rewards for Uber rides and deliveries. The statement was made on Uber's website on January 8.

According to Uber's website, customers will be able to earn 1-3 Delta SkyMiles per dollar spent on services such as airport rides, premium rides, Uber Eats orders over $40, and Uber Reserve. With 15% of Uber rides starting or ending at airports, this partnership aims to enhance connected travel experiences. Uber is also introducing features like Uber Shuttle, UberXXL, and Flight Capture to streamline airport travel.

As reported by The Daily Mail, Delta Air Lines has ended its eight-year loyalty program partnership with Lyft, effective April 7, 2025. Until that date, SkyMiles members can still earn miles on rides booked through Lyft. Delta’s decision is a shift in its strategy to reframe its loyalty program collaborations for broader customer engagement.

Uber’s partnership with Delta adds to its global loyalty collaborations, including Marriott International Inc., Aeroplan (Air Canada), Qantas Airways Limited, and FlyingBlue (Air France-KLM Group). Customers are encouraged to join the waitlist to be notified when SkyMiles account linking launches. Once linked, SkyMiles can be used for Delta flight upgrades, hotel bookings, and shopping with participating brands, reported by ABC News.

According to Uber's website, Khosrowshahi has been the CEO of Uber since 2017 and previously led Expedia Group Inc., expanding it into a global travel giant and pioneering mobile innovation. An engineer and finance expert, he also supports refugees and serves on the boards of Expedia Group Inc. and Catalyst.org.
