The Secretary of State of the United States, along with the Foreign Ministers of Australia, India, and Japan, convened in Washington D.C. to issue a joint statement reaffirming their commitment to a Free and Open Indo-Pacific. The meeting underscored the importance of upholding the rule of law, democratic values, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

The ministers emphasized that international law and economic opportunities are crucial for peace, stability, and security across all domains in the Indo-Pacific region. They expressed strong opposition to any unilateral actions that attempt to alter the status quo through force or coercion.

In response to increasing threats, they pledged to enhance regional maritime, economic, and technology security while promoting reliable supply chains. The ministers anticipate further advancing Quad initiatives in preparation for the upcoming Quad Leaders’ Summit hosted by India.
