The United States has extended its congratulations to Ambassador Blanco and Ambassador Brattested on their roles as co-facilitators for the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) Ministerial Declaration. The U.S. sees this as a significant opportunity to follow up on last year's SDG Summit and prepare for the upcoming Summit of the Future.

The Ministerial Declaration is expected to reaffirm the commitment of Member States to the United Nations' purposes and principles, emphasizing societies that respect human rights, uphold the rule of law, promote gender equality, and support accountable governance. The declaration will focus on a whole-of-society approach to achieving the 2030 Agenda, encouraging partnerships across governments, private sectors, civil society, unions, and local actors.

Highlighting specific Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the statement outlines priorities such as ending poverty through gender equality (SDG1), transforming agrifood systems for food security (SDG2), addressing climate change within established frameworks like COP28 and COP29 (SDG13), ensuring justice in inclusive societies (SDG16), and fostering partnerships for sustainable development (SDG17).

The U.S. emphasizes that achieving these goals requires collective effort, including increased finance from all sources and leveraging private sector involvement alongside official development assistance.
