The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has celebrated the graduation of 37 Egyptian women who have completed Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) degrees at top universities in the United States. These women received scholarships through USAID's initiative aimed at enhancing higher education opportunities.
"These graduates join hundreds of USAID scholarship recipients who are making a difference in Egypt," stated Sherry F. Carlin, USAID/Egypt Mission Director. "The U.S.-Egypt Higher Education Initiative is a multi-year investment in Egypt’s future, but the impact can last a lifetime."
The U.S.-Egypt Higher Education Initiative, launched in 2014 and supported by the United States Government through USAID, offers scholarships to promising individuals from underserved communities across Egypt. The program enables them to study at both Egyptian and American universities in fields vital for Egypt’s economic development. Since its start, nearly 1,000 students have benefited from undergraduate and graduate scholarships under this initiative.
This scholarship program is part of the $30 billion investment made by the American people in Egypt through USAID since 1978.
