A regional trade policy course concluded in Saudi Arabia, providing participants with training on various trade-related topics. The program included modules, case studies, and online sessions focusing on fisheries subsidies, investment facilitation for development, and e-commerce. The aim was to equip attendees with skills to address trade challenges faced by their countries.

WTO Deputy Director-General Xiangchen Zhang emphasized the collaborative effort behind the course: "The success of this course is the result of a collaborative partnership between King Saud University, the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the WTO. I would like to express my gratitude to the university and the entire academic team for their valuable contributions to this course."

Dr Abdullah Alsalman, President of King Saud University, highlighted the institution's commitment to global trade awareness: "This event reflects our dedication to promoting and raising awareness of the importance of global trade. Together with the WTO, we aim to strengthen connections among experts, develop positive business and trade environments in the region and enhance the capacities of participating countries to align with international trade rules and agreements."

Dr Raniah Aljadeed from King Saud University's Deanship of Skills Development praised both participants and staff: "Your contributions played a vital role in making this project a success. We hope you will apply what you have learned to your current and future roles, and that you continue to build on this knowledge and share it with others."

Lama Alreesh, a Junior Political Science Researcher from Kuwait representing participants, noted: "Each of us has brought unique perspectives and expertise, whether it is insights into regional trade dynamics or innovative policy solutions, all of this fostering a spirit of collaboration that will continue to drive our efforts. Over the past weeks, we have not only gained knowledge but also built a network of professionals who share the common goal of improving trade policies for the benefit of our nations."

The course began on October 13 in Riyadh.
