Yuanta Financial Holding Company (FHC) is making strides in becoming a benchmark enterprise for environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards. The company recently held its third supplier conference of 2024 on November 27, attracting nearly 100 suppliers. The event focused on creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace environment.

The conference was organized by Yuanta Securities' Human Resources Department and highlighted the company's five major health protection programs. These include maternity protection, prevention of human-caused hazards, prevention of illnesses from abnormal workloads, prevention of unlawful assaults, and support for middle-aged and senior employees. Ericsson Taiwan participated in the event to share its experiences in promoting labor health and safety within the telecommunications industry.

Yuanta FHC aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 12 on responsible consumption and production. It conducts annual supplier self-assessments across six areas: human rights, labor practices, consumer relations, integrity management, environment, and health and safety. This year’s conference acknowledged 20 A-graded suppliers.

As part of its commitment to sustainable finance, Yuanta FHC has been recognized as an Outstanding Green Procurement Enterprise by Taiwan's Ministry of the Environment for thirteen years. Since fully adopting ISO 20400 sustainable procurement guidelines in 2020, the company has seen consistent growth in green procurement spending. In 2023 alone, this figure reached NT$273 million—a nearly 30% increase from the previous year.

Yuanta FHC has integrated circular procurement principles into its operations through initiatives like renting instead of buying to reduce waste. Earlier this year, the company encouraged suppliers to join efforts towards "Resource Recycling and Zero Waste."
