Thailand's Thammanoon Sriroj emerged victorious at the 2024 Fubon Senior Open, securing a six-shot win over compatriot Prayad Marksaeng. Sriroj finished with a total score of 211 after shooting a 3-under 69 in the final round. This victory adds to his career tally, bringing it to 19 wins and earning him NT$960,000 (US$29,538) in prize money.
Marksaeng, who started the final round just one shot behind Sriroj, struggled with back-to-back bogeys on holes 14 and 15. He concluded with a score of 74, finishing second with an aggregate of 217.
Taiwan's Lien Lu Sen secured third place with a score of 219. Despite missing several fairways and birdie opportunities, Lien was satisfied with his performance. "Taiwan can take a page from Thailand in terms of their training methods and golf development," he remarked.
Sriroj plans to continue competing in Japan following this victory. His success was aided by his wife Tanapong, who served as his caddie during the tournament.
In the super senior competition, Chun-Hsing Chung claimed victory by edging out defending champion Tze-Ming Chen by one shot. Chung expressed gratitude for Fubon Group's support and Tony Hsieh's contributions to the event.
Shi-Chi Kuo repeated his amateur champion title after closing with a total score of 221.
