Malay Joshi has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer for Americas 1 Strategic Market Unit at Wipro Limited. He assumes the position with immediate effect, succeeding Srini Pallia, who was recently appointed as CEO and Managing Director earlier this month.

According to an April 10 news release announcing Joshi's appointment, Pallia praised his successor stating, "Malay has been leading one of the largest business units at Wipro and has delivered the highest Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) over a decade across multiple global businesses. His client centricity and deep understanding of the industry makes him an ideal fit to lead the Americas 1 strategic market. He is the perfect leader to take the helm of this fast-growing market and write its next chapter of our growth."

Joshi's professional journey with Wipro Limited began in 1996 when he joined as a regional manager for Comms, Media & Entertainment Industry Europe. His LinkedIn profile reveals that he has served in various capacities within the company in London and New York. Joshi holds a degree in information technology from Bangalore University and has participated in Stanford University’s Advanced Program Management program, as well as Harvard Business School’s Leading Global Business program.

Upon his appointment, Joshi expressed his enthusiasm by saying, "I am honored to assume the role of CEO Americas 1, a market that is brimming with opportunity and potential. I am looking forward to leading our talented team toward a future where we can harness the power of technology to continue to enhance our value proposition for our clients and communities."

Wipro Limited traces its roots back to 1945 when Mohamedhusain Hasham Premji expanded his father’s grain trade into manufacturing under Western India Vegetable Products. Between 1966 and 1978, Azim H. Premji took over the business and transformed it into a brand-oriented company, formally registering it as Wipro. By 2000, the company had grown into a billion-dollar entity and was listed on the New York Stock Exchange. The company's headquarters is located in Bangalore, India.
